Right after mission 8 starting animation. Used quicksave at the end of level 7, is that the problem?

Probably you are save game from game menu but there is not work please save your progress from F12 key

Balsamo, you can continue saving your games through the game menu -- after saving and before closing the game press ` * ` on numeric keypad to save your progress to your hard drive. Successful save should reset the exe.
If ` * ` doesn't work please press F10 instead.
