Re: Help!, can't get games to start

Our execs on my Windows 7 64bit Ultimare SP1 PL works without any changing compatibility settings in exe properties.

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

Yup, on some computers you have to change compatibility settings. Don't know why, that's just the way it is.

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

u can turn it off in cotrol panel -> user accounts (or something ;) ), find something about protection, and then just reduce system protection to minimum. that should disable anoying "allow" request. of course execs will start without "run as admin" option.
hope u figure it out because i cant tell u real windows options names (i use polish version, hehe). good luck

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings and pull the slider all the way down to Never notify.
Restart.

With that you will not only fix your problems with our EXEks but others too. ;)

Of course, we assume you have an antivirus program working in the background. Not that UAC is enough of a substitute... :-E

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

I have same problem with v2.5. Strange thing is that it was running perfectly before. Now, only company logo flashed and nothing. All other .exe files in my computer work fine. I've tried to change compatibility setting, user account setting slider, checked company for viruses and spyware...and nothing at all...

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me. Thank you.

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

Could you re-download not working exe's from website?
You must have actual checksums - example:
Rodland MD5: eeb76ffb6cfe2ea8b29243ef2f7c334f

Program:
MD5Checksum

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

Thank you for response, Anthrox. I've re-downloaded files, checked cheksums, files aren't corrupted in any way, but still they don't run. I also try to start them in safe mode, deleted the company folder in AppData>Local Folder, but alas, same thing, it refuses to run :(

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

I think i have a different solution, but i think could work

1.- Use VirtualBox and his plugin usb oracle. Install linux, etc...
or
2.- or Use lile linus live usb creator an download a free linux distribution and make and bootable and portable (includes virtual box but troubles in 64 bits) usb stick running linux, then make it persistent and install with synaptic install wine and winetricks (or winetrix i am not sure the name of), then run EXE with wine from linux with right mouse click on EXE icon and select run with WINE.

Its a too hard to explain but not too hard making in real, I will try to look for documentation.

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

could be...

have u rightly installed direct x?

or

Have u some software of security suite like norton security, macafee pro, nod32 pro, avira pro?

use hijackthis or similar program and try to iddentiffy who is the trouble.

By example Norton:
Usually in build computers instalation includes norton security or norton 360 if u unistalled manually probably they keep, try use and norton remover tool, maybe that is trouble. And execute uninstaller tool norton remover from safe mode to sure uninstall.

3.- Could be too the heuristic in avirus or protection isues about user in ur OS, are u Administrator? or a normal user? have u edited or changed something about protection acount user settings?
Have u passowrd for ur user? maybe is encrypting something i unknow...

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

I've got a similar problem. Same specs as the guy above. It seems to be Windows 7 X64 that's the core problem since I have a Windows 7 machine with X86 and one with X64, and the one with X86 works fine - thankfully the X86 is my mini-laptop and most likely the computer I'd play Amiga games on instead of the heavy gaming laptop. I've got a dual boot though, with Windows XP 64 bit, so I'll try to see if it fails under that OS too. I'll make updates if I discover anything helpful about this.

Re: Help!, can't get games to start

This is not a 7 x64 problem.
EXE are compiled on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate :-)
