Qwak is a massive favourite game of mine, I spent many hours playing this and imagine my amazement when I saw you have packed it and made it available for download!

I can't use a joystick on many games and this is one of them so the fact I can use the keyboard by pressing F10 on the title screen to enable the keyboard controls for me makes this game playable. I've tried using a joystick and I can't get very far but with the keyboard my high score is about 165,000,000.

When you press F10 on the title screen you get the noise just like you should but the keyboard doesn't activate - pressing SHIFT does nothing.

Just tried it in WinUAE and it worked first time.

Default control: arrows and CTRL + ALTR
Joystick control: press fire on the joystick

I can't use those keys - I've tried.

The keyboard controls Z, X, SHIFT and RETURN are the only keys I can use. I can't even get into redefine them and I don't have a joystick.

Thanks but I don't understand any of that - looks like Spanish and Polish, neither of which I speak.

I can't use any of those key controls that are set by tcUAE and here's why...

My first 8-bit computers included the Spectrum 48K with the rubber keys, Commodore 64 and the BBC Model B.

When it came to keyboard controls, the BBC series of computers (including the Acorn Electron series) somehow almost all of the games writers settled on the same keyboard controls: Z, X, / and ' for movement with SPACE for shoot and sometimes RETURN for extra functions so I've grown up with this key combination. The mapping of Qwak default keys is almost identical and therefore just came naturally.
