About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

iceq Hi guys and thank you for the great games.

1- I recently installed Kaspersky and it reported a Trojan HBO in many of your games. I wasn't sure until I investigated some of the files with other popular AVs, and all reported trojans of some sort in the file "TheCompanyLoaderWinMain.exe" which is found inside the games' exe's .
To what extent can I be sure it is clean? I would say it is a false-positive if one or two AVs reported trojans in them, but actually, most AV's did ! How do you explain that ?
(( p.s I read another post which asked about the same issue but the answer wasn't clear nor convincing at all ))

2- Many of the games (especially under 2.0) didn't work on Win7. Is there a special settings to make them work?
They fail when I launch them, I get a message "blah" , and it exists to the emulator.

3- Why do you call these games Amiga? I played most of them on the 486 PC in the old days, and I honestly don't know what an Amiga is :)

4- I downloaded all your collection from Demonoid.me when it was online, are they clean ?

5- How and where can I download new games ?

Thank you :)

Greetings from Palestine.

Oh, I struggled before I could register. I am using the university's proxy to connect, and you do not allow proxy for some reason. Some people will have no alternative like I did, and will be deprived the right to join :)

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

1. Onle the EXE games from our site are "100% clean"
False-positive alarm will be removed in new exes v2.6

Virus Total (alpha v2.6 from Beta Section)

2. v2.0 doesn't support Windows 7
3. These are the Amiga versions not PC-original-conversion
See for yourself:

ORIGINAL PC-DOS conversion

ORIGINAL Amiga version

4. You must check md5 checksum - if it's correct - exe is clean.

This is due to the preparation for the implementation of the engine v2.6.

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Yo bro'. Don't mind any trojan reports. Exe's don't contain any threat to your computer, so no worries.

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Thank you guys Anthrox, and bebokus, I highly appreciate your help.

1- I really wanted an explanation of why do AV's report trojans in your exe's? I now trust you and use them, but I would like to know why, technically speaking, does that happen?

2- If 2.0 games aren't supported in Win 7 , how can I run them, and what about the other version? which are supported under Win7 and which arent?

3- You say the false-positive will be fixed in the next version. Does it mean I will need to re-download all of the games?

4- Is there a way to check the MD5 of all exe's without having to check the page of every single one of them, on your site to compare MD5's ?

5- Why don't you offer downloading all of the games via one torrent package ? That will be much easier than downloading them one by one :)

6- Although I am subscribed to this topic, I didn't receive any notifications about new replies. Would you please check why, and also, would you email all users (or those who choose to), when the new release is out ?
( I have the "receive emails from admins" enabled) .

Cheers :)

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

1 - "Suspicious" code crypter + antidebugging (Why all keygens are detected as a trojan?)

2 - Only by updating

3 - logical

4 - new feature in v2.6 (automatic md5checksum checker)

5 - Request via PM, you will get a private package (e.g. http://thecompany.pl/games/tcgames_iceq_20121112.rar)
Torrent... Where (Demonoid is down)?; who will seed it?; (...)

6 - Maybe check 'SPAM'? :tuptup1:

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

About the trojan warnings, I'm having trouble even downloading P.P. Hammer 2.6, my A/V goes nuts and won't allow it. I have to disable it first, then download and scan the file, and add an exception rule.

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Yeah. Even we have the same problem with this. Trust me ;)
And Anthrox is still working on this so we can minimize the alerts .

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

I'm just correcting v2.5 exes. If it still shows false positives in v2.6 all you can do is make a report to AV company. It's tilting at windmills :)

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Hello
Has there been any fixes to the problem of false positives. My antivirus software goes crazy with some of the games and as you have said, they are false positives.
Some games work fine, some don't, but the odd thing that happens is that the sometimes the game that worked before, is now thought to be a virus by the antivirus program. I have added to the ignore list. But the Antivirus software still thinks it is. It has not dampened my spirits, I shall play the games that I can and one day play the ones I can't. Enjoying what has been done.

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Report the issue to your AV developers. Tell them the exe's are not suspicious. It's their job to provide a fix, too.

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

For the most of EXE-files (insiders: "taskldr.exe", "TheCompanyLoaderWinMain.exe") the Kaspersky Antivirus report viruses:
"AdWare.Win32.EZula.hhfj"
"AdWare.Win32.EZula.hhfi"
"Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Daws.bwnz"
"Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Daws.bwlr".

Re: About reported "Trojan" + 3 other short questions

Thank You for information.
You're using an old exe generation (v2.5), but if you downloaded any exe from TheCompany.pl there's nothing to worry about - this is a false-positive alarm.
