I prefer the mp3 format, why? The size of the image will be smaller.

i prefer mp3

but thers a little diffrence between mp3 and flac, it's about bass, flac has nice deep bass

but i stay with smaller too

I would always go for flac. But since the amiga CD32 wav files were heavily compressed in the first place (I believe the hardware could reproduce up to 8-bit, 28khz) my opinion is that the 192kbps lame mp3 would be sufficient for that bandwith. Also, the filesize would be significantly smaller.

Would you perhaps take the challenge?

Check all folders here, and guess which 2 samples in which folder are the original WAV files.
Even you feel lucky you can even guess what's the quality in other folders... ]:->

Oh, and BTW: I'd rather prefer answers in PM's, so that you wouldn't spoil the fun for the others.

MP3 please, most people can't tell the difference between good quality MP3's and flac anyway.

we picked mp3 192 kbp/s 48000 with dfx enchncement. they sounds just fine and takes less space.
we were thinking about releasing two kinds of cd32 exec's. first (standard) with mp3 sound and second (premium) with looseless audio. of course "premium" doesn't mean that u'll have to pay for that

they'll be free like others.
but, just like i said, we were "just" thinkin'

I suppose this way it'll keep everybody happy, and i'm sure when i last checked the poll was 50/50 for each format.

As long as you guys don't mind double the work creating 2 sets of exe's. :-)

FLAC all the way. The Internet is fast enough nowadays - no need to cripple audio quality to save space. There are some amazing CD32 soundtracks out there (Fire & Ice, Sleepwalker, Brian The Lion etc.). Keep up the great work!

personally I don't really hear any difference between the 2...maybe the bass is more crushed on the mp3 format
By no means is it significant enough for my ear. So I go for mp3

I'd go into FLAC, but I'll understand if You'll use MP3 to save some space, and for those who sayin that there's no difference... you won't hear the difference without proper equipment, don't make me wrong as it no point to argue over that matter, but I defo agree with @AmigaDreamer.
